Watkins Stained Glass Studio specializes in Religious stained glass windows and four generations have made windows primarily in the Rocky Mountain area since 1868. Phil Watkins, Jr. uses the same traditional master craftsmanship and has made new religious stained glass windows for over 380 churches in dozens of states, primarily in Colorado.

Watkins Stained Glass Studio takes great pride in designing and making windows that will inspire and reflect on the Glory of God. Each of the Watkins craftsmen have worked with architects, interior design professionals, church committees, Pastors, Sisters and Priests. The studio creates stained glass church windows in all styles from very traditional stained glass to modern architectural glass. Examples of Watkins Stained Glass Windows shown on this site range from very traditional liturgical stained glass to contemporary art glass. Others range from century old Victorian Scrollwork motifs to the very contemporary abstract art glass designs. The contemporary designed windows are good for large expanses of glass and very successful where a series of windows convey a continuity of symbols, color and design. We were asked to make a stained glass window of DaVinci’s The Last Supper that measured 20’ x 10’; every piece of glass was very finely painted and kiln-fired many times to create the look of the original fresco in Milan, Italy. Traditional stained glass windows with biblical figures and symbols present the Bible and scripture visually. Our extensive knowledge of the Bible is essential since we specialize in religious stained glass windows.

When you commission Watkins Stained Glass Studio to make a window, you will sense the difference from other studios, in that your custom stained glass window will be a work of Art, regardless of the size or complexity of design. Each window is fabricated with the expert master craftsmanship of Phil Watkins, Jr. and made using finest European and American glass creating a window that will have longevity into the next century. A visit to “The Studio” page will feature how stained glass windows are made. We are respectful and understanding of the architecture for each building and design windows that will compliment the architectural concept and the church’s inspirational direction.
